Message to OD Community

I entitle this website Inspired OD as I am planning to communicate with members of the OD Meetup groups of which I am the organizer and organizational leaders a strategy for helping improve organizational prosperity and participant engagement. I am very concerned about the state of our society and believe that we need sufficient prosperity to be able to leave a happy healthy future for our children. I encourage you to visit the homepage and read the tabs “survival and impoverishment” and “impoverishment and insurrection.” My hope is that you will sense the urgency for us as OD professionals to commit to the theme of our 2023 international OD Summit which was; “We believe building a better world is the present and future of OD”.

While developing the site I was mindful of the insight of W Edwards Deming that if you have a purpose you need to have a process for achieving your purpose. His view is that without such a process you are just messing around. I realize that if we are to work successfully on improving the health of our society, we need to be clear about what is the root cause of the problems our society faces and how to establish a process for addressing it. Many, I produced the audiovisual presentation “Adventure of Consciousness” which is on this site 50 years ago. I encourage you to listen to it and the message it provides on human evolution.

As I was working on the website it became clear to me that my purpose was not only to provide a resource to help OD professionals achieve their mission but also to provide a resource available to everyone, a resource that could help people improve their quality of life and their contribution to realizing our evolutionary purpose.
